The MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program 2024 is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Ministry of Education Taiwan for students from South Asian Countries. It allows students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree programs at 37 public Taiwanese universities.

The main aim of the MOE Taiwan Scholarship program is to encourage outstanding South Asian students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan to familiarise themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote communication, understanding, and friendship between Taiwan and South Asian countries(India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives This scholarship provides a monthly stipend of up to NT$ 20,000 along with many other benefits, making it a great opportunity for international students to study in Taiwan.

Scholarships Benefits/Coverage

The MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program 2024 Provides the following scholarship coverage/benefits to selected applicants;

  • Tuition and Miscellaneous Expenses: The MOE Taiwan scholarship will cover NT$ 40,000 for tuition and miscellaneous including; course-credit fees, and miscellaneous basic study-related fees
  • Monthly Stipend: Selected Undergraduate students will receive a monthly stipend of NT$ 15,000, Similarly Selected Master’s and Ph.D. students will receive a monthly stipend of NT$ 20,000

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements to qualify for the MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program 2024..

  • Applicants must be a national of South Asian Countries
  • Applicants must hola senior secondary school graduation diploma or post-secondary degree
  • Applicants must have an excellent academic record, and be of good moral character
  • Applicants can apply for programs that are not fully taught in English only if they have passed the TOCFL Level 3 test.
  • Applicants who haven’t passed the TOCFL Level 3 test must apply only for programs that are fully taught in English, as listed on the website.
  • Applicants should check the list of English-taught programs to find the department or program that suits their interests.
  • Applicants must submit their application directly to the university or college before the application deadline. Each institution has its deadline.

A person in any of the following categories is “ineligible” to apply:

  • An R.O.C. (Taiwan) national or overseas Chinese student.
  • A person who already has and is continuing to maintain student status at any university/college in Taiwan or who has already registered to begin studies at such a university/college.
  • A person who has already studied in Taiwan for a degree at the same level as the one in which they currently intend to enroll.
    Applicants who are exchange students or pursuing a dual/joint degree under an academic cooperation agreement between a Taiwanese university/college and an overseas institution.
  • Applicants who have received the Taiwan Scholarship for a maximum of five years.
  • Applicants who have had their Taiwan Scholarship or MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship revoked in the past.
  • Applicants who have received any other scholarship or subsidy from any Taiwan Government institution (organization) or any education institution in Taiwan at the same time,

  • A copy of a higher degree certificate and academic transcript (CGPA 6.5 and above) [Documentst must be in Chinese or English languages)
