Scholarships Benefits/Coverage

FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme 2024-2025 provides the following financial support.

  • application and tuition fees throughout the study period with basic books and notes;
  • dormitory accommodation;
  • subsistence costs;
  • health insurance.

All of the above-mentioned costs are financed by the Hungarian Government, according to the Agreement between FAO and Hungary in 2007.

Notice: The scholarship covers student costs only; family members are not supported within the frame of this programme.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants need the following requirements to be eligible for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme.

  • Applicants need to be Citizens and have residency in one of the eligible countries
  • Applicant should have outstanding/excellent school achievements
  • Applicant must be an expert in English languages and have an English language proficiency certificate (for courses taught in English)
  • Applicant’s age should be under 30.
  • Applicants must have a good health condition.
  • Applicant must have the motivation to pursue the selected course of study.

  • Phase 2: Selected candidates may be asked to take a written or oral English examination as part of the admission procedure. The participating University will run a further selection process and inform each of the successful candidates. Student selection will be made by the Universities only, without any involvement on the part of FAO. Selected students will also be notified by the Ministry.
